Why is the FS300 only 12" wide and not 14" like the FS350sp?

The FS300 is designed with a 12" width drum bacause the torque of a 14" width drum makes it more difficult for an average operator to control the equipment. This is why the industry recommends a self propel upgrade (SMITH FS350sp) for any removal width greater than 12"

document I am looking to remove concrete sidewalk trip hazards. What is the best machine to use?
document We are removing 1/8” to 2” (3-50 mm) cementitious, self-leveling material using your SMITH FS390 skid attachment, using both Flail-it Scarifier cutters and Groove-it Diamond shavers without damaging the concrete underlayment. We purchased these machines after learning that the Schibeci pick poly planer and power profiler using carbide picks would not take up the materials. What other machines do you have that can do the same job?
document We clean paint booths. There are times when the floor is so dirty and has a lot of overspray built up on it that we cannot clean it. We have tried to rent machines from Sunbelt Rental and Home Depot and not had the success we had hoped for. Any suggestions?
document I am looking for a solution to a job we are carrying out in New Zealand. We are having to grind down high spots spread out over 160m2 on 19 concrete floors. The high spots range in height from 5-15mm. We are currently using diamond grinders; these are working, but time is not on our side. I have seen Tungsten Carbide Planetary Pin Cutters before and have thought we could mount one of your cutters on my grinder. Do you think this would work more effectively than diamonds? The grinder we are using is a 400mm single-head grinder with variable speed (0 – 850 RPM). The grinder head weight can be varied from 50kg to 100kg. If you think your Tungsten Carbide Planetary Pin Cutters would help, can you please let us know? Or, if you have any other suggestions, can you please advise?
document Can use both the drum and rotary-type cutters on the SMITH FS300 for concrete floors?
