ATSSA – Puerto Rican Road Safety Colleagues needs help

Monday, October 16th, 2017

Message from ATSSA  – Puerto Rican Road Safety Colleagues Need Your Help

Dear Florida ATSSA Chapter members,

It has been four weeks since Hurricane Maria devastated Puerto Rico, damaging homes, businesses, roads and destroying the island’s power grid.

ATSSA is reaching out to Florida Chapter members to assist an industry colleague, Mr. Hector Davila, owner of Road Marks Corp, the leading pavement striping company in Puerto Rico.  Prior to founding Road Marks, a family owned business in 1994, his father was an active ATSSA member in the 1970s.

Due to a host of extreme infrastructure challenges rebuilding the island, pavement-marking work will not be a priority in the foreseeable future, therefore Mr. Davila and possibly others are considering moving to the mainland in search of opportunities to support their families.

If your company can assist Mr. Davila, kindly reach out to him directly by email hdavila@ymail.com or by phone 787-501-0062. For more information about Road Marks Corp, click here.

Thank you Steven Smith, SMITH Manufacturing for sharing this story:  http://www.smithmfg.com/news/stripers-can-help-save-hector-davila-road-marks-puerto-rico/

Seven Surface-Prep Essentials That Belong in Every Striper’s Toolbox

It’s not always easy to figure out what type of surface-prep equipment tools to own. Even for an experienced pavement marking contractor, putting together the right mix of prep-before-marking removal equipment takes thought, time, and inevitably, money.

As a striping professional, you want to make sure the investment you’re making in surface-prep tools is a good one, especially if you are aiming for quality products where costs can quickly add up.
